Chorus of St Cecilia to perform at St Peter's Church

A choir is set to perform for a fundraising concert in Norfolk this month

CHORUS OF ST CECILIA

The Chorus of St Cecilia, led by musical director Matthew Hardy, will perform their Celebration Summer Concert on July 18, at St Peter's Church in Gorleston



The event, beginning at 7.30pm, will have the mayor and mayoress of Great Yarmouth as guests

The concert will include music by Schubert, John Rutter, and pieces from Handel's Messiah, along with songs from musicals such as South Pacific, Godspell, The Sound of Music, and The Lion King

Pianist Chris Whiting will premiere a composition of The Gloria

Tickets, priced at £10, can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling 07786 165690

Proceeds from the concert will go to the Church Organ Fund, which currently stands at £14,715

The same concert will also be held at Bradwell Church on July 26

St Peter's Church will also host a series of Friday lunchtime concerts, starting with singer Neil Francis on July 11 at 12pm

These concerts are free, with a retiring collection for the organ fund
